Case Study – Maintenance
Client Brief:
Manage a recently landscaped garden to the original design ethos, maintaining the natural forms of the plants whilst they grew, to create a ‘mature’ look as soon as possible. Ensure plant and lawn health and propose solutions to problems as they developed.
Outcome:
- A regular maintenance schedule across all aspects of the garden.
- An annual care regime including plant feeding, removal of dead material on seasonal plants, leaf clearance, grass cutting and weeding as needed.
- Annual pruning of approximately 75m of large leafed hedging material by hand to develop a natural profile and avoid the unsightly jagged edges arising from use of electric tools.
- Formative pruning of stands of Acer palmatum ‘Garnet’ to ensure balance within the garden. Pruning of Laurus nobilis standards of approximately 2.5m x 1m annually.
- Re-planting to replace old or dead material, whilst maintaining design integrity.

“I love our garden but would not know where to start in order to maintain it properly. Thanks to Peter for his continuous effort in keeping it looking great – despite the garden having been redesigned when we first moved in many years ago, it is still looking pristine. The Landscaped Garden won’t let you down. Just great!
